Is the Fun Buddy Icons
product compatible with all versions
of Yahoo! Messenger?
Fun
Buddy Icons is compatible with Yahoo! Messenger for Windows (version
6.0 or higher). It is not compatible with Yahoo! Web Messenger. It
also does not work with enhancement software like Y!TunnelPro.

Why do my
friends need to download Fun Buddy Icons in order to
see my buddy icon on Yahoo Messenger?
We would prefer that your
friends be able to see your buddy icon on their IM client without having
to download Fun Buddy Icons.
However, given the closed
environment of IM services and the
way in which data is interpreted between IM clients, some
limitations do exist.
Unfortunately, that means that your friends
must have the Fun Buddy Icons software in order to see your buddy
icon. To facilitate this, we
periodically include a link to the Fun Buddy Icons download page when you send
messages to people who have not yet downloaded
Fun Buddy Icons.
We
apologize for any inconvenience this may cause your friends. We
strongly believe, however, that they will be pleased with the product
once they've downloaded and begun
using it. Not only will they be able to see your buddy icon, but they
will have over 250 unique buddy
icons to choose from, as well!

I don't see a Fun Buddy Icons button on my browser or IM
window. What do I do?
If you have downloaded Fun Buddy Icons and are not seeing the Fun
Buddy Icons button on your browser or IM, it is likely due to one of two
scenarios:
1) You
did not close all your open browsers and IM windows once you
downloaded Fun Buddy Icons. Please do this now and then reopen a new
window. You should then see something like this on your browser:

Prior to installing Fun Buddy Icons, you already had several buttons
on your "Standard Buttons" browser bar. If this is the case, your Fun
Buddy Icons button can be found by clicking the ">>" button located
in the upper-right corner of your browser. See below:

Can I enable/disable Fun Buddy Icons within my Yahoo Messenger?
Yes -
from your web browser, simply:
1) Click the 
button located in the upper-right corner of your browser
2) Select "Enable/Disable Features" from the pull-down menu
3) Check the box next to "Yahoo Messenger" to enable, uncheck
the box to disable
4) Click "Save Changes"
Be sure to close any applications you have open, then open for your
changes to take effect.
